The “Antifa” group are right wingers, but they didn’t actually put up the banner:

I went to about half a dozen optical shops looking at frames. It’s hard to make choices when there are so many to choose from and not one of them is jumping out as ‘the one’. I finally went back the the third place to re-compare what I’d seen, and the frames I’d tried there finally felt like the best choice, but then I changed my mind about the color.
It’s hard to choose frames when you’re vision goes fuzzy without corrective lenses. I tried taking selfies with a couple frames so that I could put my glasses back on and see what they look like, but I always look like crap in selfies. I tend to look best from about two miles away.

The trailer for the new Absurd comedy about Stalin - The Death of Stalin - was reviewed by The BBC the other day. bbc.com
Shot before Trump became US president, The Death of Stalin is one of many films to arrive in a global landscape different from what their creators might have expected. There is a new resonance when Khrushchev talks about the importance of telling the right story whether it is true or not. “This is how people get killed, when their stories don’t fit,” he says. It is possible to see Beria as a Putin stand in. But the film’s humour accommodates any political opinion. It is one of Iannucci’s most consistent, convincing tropes that at various times everyone in power seems idiotic.

But in the end, none of them were Mrs. FBW. She’s my Kryptonite, the only woman that other women couldn’t make me stop thinking about.
And in the end, that’s what love boils down to, when you’ve found that person who, no matter what is going on around you or in your life, all he/she has to do is touch you and whisper quietly in your ear and the whole world disappears.
re: #93 petesh
Without the glasses, my eyesight is notably sub-optimal. This is why I insist that the spousal unit accompanies me. Also, she sees them more than I do. I do, however, retain veto rights.
Mrs. FBW has veto rights, because I have little sense of style. That, and they always want you to choose right after they dilate your goddam pupils and you can’t see worth a damn.
I’m beginning to worry that Susan Rice might not be 100% reliable on this unmasking question. https://t.co/Op8cMS1jIz

I confess to being hopelessly, sappily in love with her 42 years after we met.

Our nine-year anniversary is next week. We met three years prior to that. We were talking earlier this year how crazy it is that we’ve known each other for almost half our lives now.

You’re in the middle of a haven of nerds. Of course there is math.

You should do what Mrs. FBW and I talked about, but never did - have a Half-Life Party! Ours would have been at 34. By then we had The Older Boy and were focused on him, though.
I’m about 2/3 of the way through Hillary’s book, and the more I read, the more I think…
O, what a fall was there, my countrymen!
Then I, and you, and all of us fell down,
Whilst bloody treason flourished over us.

Ours will be when I am 41 or thereabouts. By then the fishspawn will be teenagers, so they can just deal.

In our house, it would be one of The Boys who ate the lasagna. Or both of The Boys.

Unfortunately, in a house with 16yo and 13yo boys, I’m still the boy with the cheesy meat stains on his shirt. But, yes, our mutual foibles only become part of the language that keeps us deeply in love.

Half an hour ago, I looked at Mrs. FBW and said, “I’m hungry for that bag of potato chips we don’t have.”
She looked at me and said, “I know, right?”

Awww. You young couples.
It is so cute…
Me and MrBWS have been married for 13 years now, but we’ve known each other for more than 50 years.
Way back then in the 1960s, we made a pact that if we were single when we got old, we’d get together and move to the Backwoods of Kentucky.
omg…some things actually do come true!
Never ceases to amaze me how the RW base reacts like good little programmed robots whenever one of their pundits recycles a fake outrage.

Oh look, there’s the riot cops that were nowhere to be found in Charlottesville.
/////
Thank you. When Nazis and White Supremacists were beating up people, the cops disappeared. They claim to not even have heard/seen the vicious attack on DeAndre Harris and didn’t make arrests for weeks in regard to that attack. But now they’re out in full force when Black people are peacefully protesting. Just goes to show for whom they are working.

So who was meant to be the beneficiary of that Inaugural “charity”?
The “Seohs Sainalem Fund”?
Trump. Trump is the beneficiary of anything related to Trump.

One truth we definitively learned from the election of Trump: American wingnuts are some of the most gullible human beings on Earth.

Greg Fish:
“…Trying to follow their logic is whiplash-inducing because deep down, there is no logic, only, to quote numerous conservative commentators, a list of petty grievances and sense of wounded pride, informed by perpetually outraged right-wing talking heads lying to them about liberals coming for their guns, money, and property. And the very fact that trying to grasp this naked, self-destructive nihilism is maddening to liberals is a great source of joy to Trumpists. As the less explicit refrain goes, they’d set their house on fire if they knew that a liberal would have to inhale the smoke.”
Trump is not an anomaly—He is the latest symptom of a dangerous disease that has afflicted the @GOP for decades https://t.co/DOmMan1qvD

This is exactly why I won’t be voting for Senator Sanders if he runs again in 2020. His supporters are willing to look at Trump supporters and ignore the racism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc., and give them the benefit of the doubt for electing a bigot. Yet they want to tear down Secretary Clinton at every turn.

Not so sure about that. There’s days I think they’re not gullibly believing Trump; they’re willfully complicit in spreading what they know to be lies.

Just had a 5.1 earthquake located about 70 miles NW of me. Very shallow quake at 1 km in depth. Wife felt it sitting in a chair but the dishes didn’t rattle and the chandelier remained motion-less.

I’ll vote for him in the general if he becomes the nominee because defending minority lives from GOP racism & bigotry is more important than my dislike of Sanders. However I’ll once again volunteer for his primary election opponent because yeah he sucks and his followers are a sniveling cult of shitwitted hobgoblins who view minority issues as a distraction from their economic monomania.
